House fire causes 50,000 dollars in damages

Amarillo, TX - Local residents are now facing thousands of dollars in repair costs after a blaze broke out at their house.

Around 11:00 Sunday night Amarillo firefighters fought flames burning through the entire back part of the house near 34th Avenue and Janet Drive.

Four people were inside at the time, but were able to escape. Only one suffered a minor burn.

The fire left 50,000 worth of damages.

Firefighters say they were able to contain the fire in about 30 minutes.

The cause is under investigation.
