More LPS elementary schools adopt dress code policies

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON Okla_ Starting next school year, eight more Lawton elementary schools will adopt the district's modified dress code plan.

Lawton Board of Education members approved the request made by Almor West, Brockland, Cleveland, Pat Henry, Andrew Jackson, Ridgecrest, BC Swinney and Wilson elementary schools. They will join four others that have been in the program since last year.

The modified dress code does not require uniforms. Instead, it allows students to select from a specific set of clothing items. Boys and girls can choose from a variety of colors for polo shirts, sweaters and sweatshirts. No design or wording will be allowed. And..slacks, shorts, and skirts must be black, blue or khaki.
