Posted: Updated:

LAWTON,Okla_An event in Lawton attracted a famous guest speaker today. Actress and reality TV star Lisa Whelchel was at Cameron University for a luncheon on identity theft.

She was a 2012  contestant on 'Survivor' but  may be more widely known as "Blaire" from the 80's TV show "Facts of Life". She spoke about what brought her to Lawton.

A couple of times a year they have a community luncheon for the women in the community to kind of bring some connection. They asked me to come and share some of the lessons I learned from 'Survivor' and 'Facts of Life,' said Whelchel.

After sharing her story, Whelchel answered dozens of questions from the crowd. She also talked about the future of her career which includes more writing. She's already authored several books and is staring in an upcoming film.
