Ceremony To Honor Lawton’s Adult Learners

LAWTON Okla_ The Lawton Public Schools' Adult Education Program will honor several local residents next week.

The students went "back to school" to better their lives by earning General Equivalency Diplomas, completing English as a Second Language classes, or by participating in a variety of other educational classes.

The program's annual spring ceremony, themed "Just the Beginning!" will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, May 13, at the LPS Professional Development Center, 2209 NW 25th St. Adults who completed work-based and family literacy classes will also be honored at the ceremony, said Sheila Fountain, director of the Lawton Area Lifelong Learning Center.

Welcome messages will be delivered by Lawton Superintendent of Schools Barry Beauchamp.
