Dumas pharmacist sues state after being investigated

Dumas, TX - A pharmacist in Dumas who's under scrutiny by the state has now filed a lawsuit in federal court in Amarillo.

S. Ray Johnson, part owner of the Pill box in Dumas, denies alleged violations found by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy during past inspections.

An inspector claims in 2011 work could not be completed due to Johnson's threatening and combative behavior.

Johnson was inspected a few months later by an undercover investigator who claims verbal counseling failed to be provided to him before he was sold hydrocodone.

An attorney for the state board tells us during January of this year they filed a contested case hearing to resolve the matter.

The case has been put on hold while the lawsuit against them is pending.
