Dozens get dirty in Amarillo Mud Run for Snack Pak 4 Kids

Posted: Updated:

Raising money to better the lives of children in our area was also the goal of Saturday morning's Mud Run out at Maxwell's Pumpkin Farm south of Amarillo.

Proceeds from the Amarillo Athlete's three mile Mud Run will benefit the Snack Pak 4 Kids program in Amarillo. Most of the proceeds will help fund the group's upcoming summer programs which, at $40 per child they serve, could cost the group anywhere from $40,000 to $80,000.

"It's good for the community," said Blue Baggett, owner of Amarillo Athlete. "It's putting money back into our system and it's also benefiting Snack Pak 4 Kids, which all these kids are going to our public schools and not getting to eat. Let's help them out and do something for them."

In addition to raising awareness about Snack Pak 4 Kids, officials with Amarillo Athlete hoped this fun-filled, messy and extremely active run would also remind folks about the importance of physical activity no matter the age.
