Local organization helping Shawnee, OK tornado victims

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, TX - A local organization is still in need of donations before delivering them to residents in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

The Twist-A-Wish organization in Amarillo had planned to donate items they've collected to those affected in Moore, Oklahoma.

But now they will be headed to Shawnee, Oklahoma.

If you remember, Shawnee was hit by an EF4 tornado on Sunday.

The Shawnee Sheriff's Department says they have not been receiving very many donations or volunteers.

Twist A Wish will now be leaving Friday and still needs items before taking off.

Blankets, cots, pillows, canned goods and water are the items most needed.

You can drop off donations all day Thursday through Friday afternoon at Victory Church at 6300 Arden Road.

Monetary donations are also being accepted.
