City of Fritch issues boil water notice for surrounding areas

Posted: Updated:

Due to a water well pump failure, the City of Fritch has issued a "Boil Water Notice" effective immediately.

City officials say the notice does not affect residents living inside city limits, but is actually for many residents living in several surrounding areas. A list of those include:

Sage Mesa

Ponderosa

Little Ponderosa

Arroyoverde

Antelope Mesa

Vinson Development

Lake Meredith Harbor

Sanford Estates

Officials say they're having the water tested Monday morning to see if it's contaminated, and they'll know more after that. However, the boil water notice will remain in effect until further notice.  The fire department in Fritch also has plenty of water on hand that's still available to affected residents.
