Sheriff's Deputy Back on Duty After Being Shot

MONTAGUE CO., Okla_ A Texoma Sheriff's Deputy is back on the job just two months after he was shot three times in the line of duty.

It happened when Montague County Deputy James Boyd pulled over Avan Ebel, a member of a white supremacist prison gang and the suspected shooter of the Colorado Prison's Chief, on March 21st.

As soon as he walked up to the car, Ebel started firing. One bullet grazed Boyd's head. The other two hit him in the chest. Thankfully, he was wearing a bullet proof vest. That saved his life, but he's still had to undergo extensive rehab to work on his coordination, balance and problem solving.

Boyd plans to work dispatch a few days this week and ease his way back to full time patrol.
