Emergency alert system - Resolve To Be Ready

Posted: Updated:

With the potential for severe weather, the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission is reminding residents, they can sign up for customized emergency alerts.

The web site is www.r2beready.com. It allows you to sign up for custom alerts from 26 counties. Options include, weather alerts, city and county notifications, and public safety warnings for schools within the Canyon School District.

If you have a storm shelter, you can also register the latitude and longitude location, to help alert authorities where you may be in the event of a severe storm.

Registration is free and alerts will be sent to your email or phone via text message.
