One Injured in Lawton Accident

LAWTON Okla_ Traffic was closed down, and one person was sent to the hospital after a car accident in Lawton Thursday.

It happened just after 11:00 AM Thursday at the intersection of 11th and Pecan, just north of the city dump. The van was driving south on 11th, when the truck tried to drive around another car and went over the center line. The front of the van collided with the side of the truck, sending the truck spinning into a nearby field.

Both cars were heavily damaged. The road has since been re-opened. The man in the truck suffered minor injuries while a girl from the van was taken to Comanche County Memorial Hospital. No word on her condition.
