Donated Computers To Help Kids

Posted: Updated:

Lawton, Ok_Some children in Lawton got further proof today that every life does matter. They now have computers to call their own.

The children are part of Pastor Michael Cross's "Every Life Matters" program at the Sanders Heights apartments.

They got the computers after some workers at a local defense contractor saw our story about what the pastor was doing, and decided to help, too.

"We actually, the employees actually paid for them ourselves, not the Raytheon fund. The employees get together and we bought the hard drives, pretty much everything for the computer," said Raytheon facility manager, Greg Thomas.

Pastor Cross is overjoyed with the computers--and the generosity of the employees who bought them. Now, he hopes to have an "Every Life Matters" program in other Lawton neighborhoods.

"Going to other apartment complexes, mimicking this same program. The support of the community, the sponsors, the business. They have been really doing a neat job with this program," said Cross.

The program focuses on character building and teaching youth life skills.
