UPDATE: Arson blamed in Lawton home explosion

Lawton_ Firefighters now say an early-morning house explosion last weekend is a case of first-degree arson.

The explosion happened around 12:15am Sunday and blew out the back of the house at SW 26th and "A" avenue.

The explosion occurred as a thunderstorm rolled through the city. Neighbors say they heard a loud boom, and looked outside to see possible storm damage, and that's when they realized the house was on fire.

No one was home at the time.
