Roosevelt County inmate remains free after escaping jail

A Roosevelt County jail escapee remained free Saturday night, after he and another inmate got out of the detention center through an air conditioning vent in the ceiling of a cell Friday night.

One of the inmates, Stephen Phillips, was captured soon after the escape. But 42-year-old Ruben Lozano remains free, according to officials at the jail.

The two were originally discovered missing around 9:30 Friday night, and as of 9:30 Saturday night, Lozano was still missing.

According to the Associated Press, Lozano was being held on drug trafficking charges, and he's described as five foot six, weighing about 175 pounds.
