Cotton Co. Shooter Identified

Posted: Updated:

COTTON CO., Okla_ 7News is following new information on a shooting in Cotton County last weekend.

The suspected shooter has been identified as 45-year-old Robert Turk. He's expected to be extradited from Wichita Falls back to Oklahoma to face two charges of shooting with intent to kill.

Turk is accused of shooting a woman twice and firing several shots at a man. It happened Saturday afternoon at a house three miles north of Highway 53.

The woman told police Turk was inside a back bedroom when she came home. She said he pointed a gun at her, and then he went outside and fired several shots at the man. Somehow, he managed to make it inside the house, and the pair tried to hide. That's when Turk shot out a back sliding door and went in.

Police say after shooting the woman in the arm and knee, Turk stole her truck and took off. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol got involved and chased Turk to New Hope Road, where he shot himself.

He survived and was taken to a hospital in Wichita Falls.
