Iron Soldiers run for fallen military warrior heroes

Starting June 28 until the Fourth of July, a group that began its trek in Childress will be part of a "Run for Texas Silent Heroes".

The group, Iron Soldiers Inc., will stop in several cities along their route to Austin honoring all military warriors that have fallen fighting for our freedom.

Saturday morning, they stopped in Amarillo to perform a battle field cross ceremony at the Panhandle War Memorial. There, they honored a local Gold Star family, who lost a loved one while serving in the military.

"What this is, is so that the public will remember our heroes out there that have families," said Archie Sharp, Iron Soldiers Founder. "You have families, and your families will be remembered."

As the soldiers run across the state, they encourage people to come out and show their support by joining in on the run. For more information on their mission or the organization, visit their web site at ironsoldiers.org.
