Man arrested after leading police on chase

UPDATE 3:46 p.m.: 22 year-old Francisco Javier Cisneros is charged with "felon in possession of a firearm," evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, and possession of marijuana.

Amarillo, TX - A man is arrested after leading police on a short chase Friday afternoon.

Just before 1:00, officers attempted to make a routine traffic stop on a vehicle - the driver instead made a run for it.

Officers say the suspect may have thrown a gun out of the window as he was being chased.

The suspect was spotted by un-marked units at the Quality Inn near I-40 and Ross, where police were able to place him under arrest.

Police have not released the name of the suspect or the charges he may face at this time.
