Lawton Man Charged in Givens Murder

LAWTON Okla_ The case for Lawton's 11th homicide of the year has gone to the district attorney.

Monday, the state charged 18-year-old John Paul Santana with 2nd-degree murder. He's accused of shooting 17-year-old Deshawn Givens last Tuesday night at the Summit Village Apartment complex on Southwest 52nd Street.

Givens later died at Comanche County Memorial Hospital.

Lawton police have arrested three juveniles connected to the homicide. One is accused of being accessory after the fact. The others are being held as a material witnesses.
