Tulsa Man Claims $1 Million Powerball Prize

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Lottery commission says a Tulsa man has claimed a $1 million prize from the Powerball drawing.

The commission says Alan Beckert redeemed his ticket Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Oklahoma City and that he plans to invest his winnings. He received a check for $710,000 after taxes.

Beckert purchased his ticket from a self-service lottery machine at a Food Pyramid in south Tulsa and matched each of the five white balls drawn for the $1 million prize.
