Police continue to search for three suspects after robbery and foot chase

A robbery turns into a foot chase through a residential neighborhood in east Amarillo.

Police received a call around 5:20 Wednesday evening for a reported robbery at Chihuahua Motors at 1210 S. Grand Street in Amarillo.

They say three suspects beat up an employee at the car lot and took a television before driving off in a green Toyota pickup truck. The victim was able to drive after the suspects, before one fired three shots at him near the area of 15th and S. Hill.

A short time later police saw the green pickup truck at a convenience store at Amarillo Blvd. and Columbine. When they tried to stop it, officers say the truck sped away. Minutes later, it was found abandoned near 18th and Bluebell. After residents reported seeing someone jump over fences in some area back yards, APD pulled into the neighborhood to search for the suspects.

A DPS helicopter and the APD canine unit was used during the search. The suspects have not been found yet. They are being described as an Asian male and a Hispanic male and female. No injuries were reported.

If you have any information, contact the Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
