Lawton woman kidnapped, escapes by use of text messages

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla._Police have a man in custody after he held a Lawton woman in her vehicle against her will for more than an hour.

LPD says it's not the first time. The suspect, Gaylyn Martin has allegedly committed similar crimes before.

This kidnapping happened Friday night around 9 o'clock. The victim's husband told police that his wife was texting him saying that she had been taken. Another text indicated her location.

When police saw the texts, they sent officers to Northwest 13th and Andrews.

That's when they saw the victim's car, with Martin and the victim inside. Police arrested Martin at the scene.
