Moore Lawmaker Urges Fraud Victims To Contact AG

Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A Moore legislator whose district was hit hard by the May 20 tornado is urging residents to notify the attorney general's office if they believe they've been victims of fraudulent activity.

Republican Mark McBride said Tuesday there have several reports of fraudulent collections for money or goods as part of schemes to take advantage of Oklahomans by convincing them the donations are for worthy causes.

He urged residents who may have been victimized to contact the Attorney General's Office of Public Protection.

McBride says citizens should ask questions of people looking to solicit donations and ask them if they have a business or identification card.
