Waurika Lake Levels Down, Cities' Usage Cut

Posted: Updated:

WAURIKA Okla_ Waurika Lake levels continue to drop. So, it's no longer a back-up for six Southwestern Oklahoma cities, including Lawton.

Lawton and the others must reduce their usage by 10%. The Waurika Master Conservancy District Board approved the 10% cut for cities that use Waurika Lake as a drinking water source. Lawton, Walters and Temple had already stopped using Waurika water because of a water line break.

The other three cities that use Waurika Lake as a water source are Duncan, Comanche and Waurika.
