Kitchens Waives Right to Prelim Hearing

LAWTON Okla_ A Lawton man accused of manslaughter waived his right to a preliminary hearing Monday, which clears the way for his trial. Klayton Kitchens was arrested back in May in the shooting death of Christopher Moore.

Investigators say kitchens admitted to the killing. He said it happened in self-defense after the two argued over a gun outside a home in east Lawton. Prosecutors say while Kitchens may not have intended to kill Moore, he was responsible for the death, because he showed no regard from Moore's safety when he pointed the gun at him.

The judge ordered Kitchens to return to court next week, and that's when a trial date will be set.
