Murder Suspect Officially Charged

LAWTON Okla_ The ex-husband of Lawton's 12th homicide victim was charged with second-degree murder Monday.

He said he did it because he thought his ex-wife was an intruder. Bryan Pierce is accused of killing his ex-wife Traci Young last Wednesday while inside her own home near Northwest 11th and Andrews.

Police found Young lying in the hallway. She'd been shot twice in the chest. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Pierce was the one who made the 911 call. He said he shot his ex-wife because he believed she was an intruder, but police say Young's wounds were close contact wounds, and Pierce's statements were inconsistent with the evidence.

Pierce has pleaded not guilty and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
