Nobles Prelim Hearing Begins

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON Okla_ A preliminary hearing opened Wednesday in Lawton for Kenneth Nobles, who's charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of John Shepherd.

Nobles' cousin, Carlos Melendez-Salazar who was at the scene of the homicide back in May, told the court that an ongoing argument led to a shooting at his aunt's house. He said he did not see how Shepherd died.

Police found Shepherd in the front yard of a home at northwest 13th and Taylor. Witnesses helped lead police to Nobles and Salazar. Wednesday's hearing wrapped up around 5:00PM, but it is not over. It will resume at a date to be set, sometime in August.
