Freshman Orientation Day

Posted: Updated:

Lawton, Ok_Tuesday was orientation day for freshmen attending Eisenhower and Lawton High Schools.

At Eisenhower, it was all about "Ignition", a team building program that Principal Rod Elam said works. "We get student mentors or upper level students to work with small groups of students and we have teachers in the building acting as facilitators for them. And these groups all meet once a month", said Elam.

Meanwhile, at Lawton High School, Tessa Zura said while she's a little nervous about high school, she thinks her new school is awesome and she already likes her principal.  "He sings a lot and he's super funny", said Zura.

Classes begin for Lawton public school students on Friday, August 16th, 2013.
