Comanche County, Okla._A boathouse caught fire at Lake Lawtonka Tuesday afternoon.
Crews say smoke and flames were visible as they arrived to the boathouse at School House Slough just after 2:30.
Medicine Park Volunteer Fire crews were on the scene within minutes and had to force their way in because the home was unoccupied.
"It was a lot of visible flames when we first arrived a lot of smoke but fortunately someone saw it here at the store and we got in route pretty quick," said Medicine Park Fire Department Chief David McCoy.
Fire officials believe it sparked on the deck and spread to the boathouse. They say the flames were contained to one wall, causing minimal damage. The owners have been notified.
Officials believe a discarded cigarette may be to blame, but the official cause is undetermined.
