Hung jury ends former Ft. Sill soldier's murder trial

Posted: Updated:

Clay County, TX- A mistrial has been declared in the case of Justin Green, a former Fort Sill soldier accused of murder in Texas.

The jury started deliberating Wednesday, and Thursday afternoon, they told the judge they were deadlocked ,and would not be able to reach a verdict.

Green was accused in the shooting death of fellow soldier Jose Ramirez, then burying him in a shallow grave near Petrolia, TX.

The prosecution argued Green planned to kill Ramirez for his money, and even dug his grave before he did it.  But, the defense told jurors Green shot Ramirez in self-defense.

The prosecutor plans to try the case again.
