Altus police investigate home burglary while residents home

Altus- Altus Police are investigating a first degree burglary after someone broke into a home while the homeowners were there.

Chief Tim Murphy says the homeowners realized around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday that someone had been in their house in the 2400 block of Robin. Police say the suspect(s) gained entry into the house through an unlocked garage door. Officers say the victim's purse and some other property was found on the back porch. The chief says the homeowner's 2005 silver Honda Accord was also stolen from the driveway. It was found a short time later in the 600 block of Mitchell.
