Amarillo Police say Shawn Hooten, the homicide suspect from Monday night's stabbing, has been taken into custody.

At around 8, Wednesday night, police say they were taking a report from a person on an unrelated incident near the 6100 block of S. Bell. That is when they say they recognized a man who looked like Hooten walking towards them.

They say Hooten was taken into custody without incident and will be booked into Randall County jail for his murder warrant.

35 year old Hooten is accused of fatally stabbing his father on Monday at the Granite Apartments, near 34th and Western.
