Private Memorial Set for Christopher Lane

EDMOND, Okla. (AP) _ A private memorial service for an Australian baseball player shot and killed in Oklahoma has been planned for Saturday at a central Oklahoma university.

The service to honor 22-year-old Christopher Lane is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond. The event is closed to the public.

Lane was jogging in an affluent neighborhood in Duncan when he was gunned down at random last week. Three boys_ ages 15, 16 and 17 _ have been charged in the Melbourne native's death.

Lane's girlfriend, Sarah Harper, attends Oklahoma Christian University.

One of Lane's friends, Brock Werdel, is helping to organize the service. He says people who attend will be asked to write down memories of Lane to send to Lane's parents in Australia.
