Chris Lane Remembered

EDMOND, Okla._

Saturday, a private memorial service was held in Edmond in honor of Australian Chris Lane. Lane's friends and former baseball teammates set up a memorial fund this week hoping to raise a couple thousand dollars.

They never imagined the response to become what it has in just a matter of days. The service took place at Oklahoma Christian University, where Chris Lane's girlfriend attends classes.

Another service was held Friday night for lane in Duncan.

Hundreds of people with lawn chairs and Australian flags gathered to reflect and remember Lane, whom most had never met. Former Lt. Gov. Jari Askins lives in Duncan and spoke, saying the city is much more than what the media has made it out to be.
