Dimmitt police searching area for weekend shooting suspect

Amarillo, TX - Dimmitt police are searching for a suspect they believe is involved with a shooting this past weekend.

Police believe 38 year-old Rene Rivera may be hiding in Amarillo, or possibly with family in Hereford, Canton or Plainview.

He is described as 5'06" tall and 185 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo on his left forearm.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not be directly approached.
