Man in wheelchair hit by oncoming traffic

LAWTON, Okla_A Lawton man is expected to recover after being hit by on coming traffic late Saturday night.

It happened at 11th and "F" Avenue just after 10 p.m. The man was attempting to cross the road in his wheel chair. 

 

Lawton Police tell us the man was traveling backwards in his wheelchair when he crossed into on-coming traffic. Cars attempted to maneuver around him, but one driver car was unable to avoid hitting the man.

The driver was in a white car and did not stop after hitting the man.

The victim's identity has not been released.
