Part of Interstate 40 was closed for several hours Saturday while crews worked to clean up the aftermath of a semi-truck accident.
Officials with the Texas Department of Transportation report a semi-truck overturned about five miles east of Shamrock on I-40 around noon on Saturday.
The truck was reportedly carrying batteries. The Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) was notified of the accident and crews were out on scene this afternoon cleaning the scene.
An update from officials Saturday afternoon reports all lanes on westbound I-40 east of Shamrock have been reopened to traffic.
