Bid protest against Pantex contract denied

Amarillo, TX - A protest against the bidding process for the contract to manage and operate the Pantex Plant has been denied.

A team led by Babcock and Wilcox Co.,or B&W, filed the protest on June 17th but it was rejected by the U.S. Government accountability office earlier this week.

A new contractor for Pantex was set to be selected by May 1st but the transition had been placed on hold.

In the meantime, B&W says they will remain focused on operating the Amarillo plant safely and securely until a final decision on the contract is made.
