UPDATE: Six vehicle wreck in south Amarillo

UPDATE:

Amarillo, TX - A six vehicle wreck that sent several people to the hospital with life threatening injuries Tuesday night could have been avoided.

Police say a driver failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign on Hampton street and pulled out hitting a car on Hillside.

That started a chain reaction that involved six vehicles. All of those involved are expected to be fine, and the driver that started the wreck was issued a ticket.


Amarillo, TX - Several people are hospitalized after a major wreck in south Amarillo. It happened around 9:00 Tuesday night on Hillside between Bell and Coulter.

Police tell us six vehicles were involved, but specific details on what exactly caused the crash have not been released.

Sources tell us from six to eight people were taken to the hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be serious.
