Roosevelt County escaped inmate captured in Utah

New Mexico - An escaped inmate out of Roosevelt County has now been captured.

The Clovis News Journal reports Robert Claudio was caught in Salt Lake City after escaping from the Roosevelt County Jail Friday night with two other men.

Those two were caught a few hours later, but Claudio evaded capture until he was found by U.S. Marshals with his girlfriend in Utah.

He is being held in the Salt Lake County jail awaiting extradition back to New Mexico.
