LAWTON Okla_ Lawton Students got free jump ropes, fresh fruit, and sunglasses Friday, courtesy of some Fort Sill soldiers.

Soldiers from the first of the 17th Field Artillery of the 75th Fires Brigade visited students at Andrew Jackson Elementary School to teach them how to stay healthy and fit. This was part of the Oklahoma State Department of Health's "Shape Your Future" campaign. The soldiers were all too happy for this opportunity to give back.

"We want them to know 75th Fires Brigade is honored and excited to be a part of the Fort Sill community," Captain Garrison Haning said. "We're excited to be interacting with the students of Jackson Elementary."

Haning said teaching kids about health and fitness while they're young helps them keep those good habits for their lifetimes.
