OU Health Sciences Center Buys Research Park

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and the Presbyterian Health Foundation have announced the sale of the health foundation's research park in Oklahoma City to OU.

Terms of the sale were not released.

Health foundation board Chairman Carl Edwards said in a Thursday news release that the sale will allow for advancements in medical research in Oklahoma.

OU President David Boren says the research park is an engine for economic growth in the state that will be used to improve biomedical research and encourage commercialization of equipment and technologies.

The research park south of the state Capitol in Oklahoma City and includes about 700,000 square feet for a biomedical research lab and office space.
