Two million dollars worth of cocaine found during traffic stop

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, TX - A routine traffic stop earlier this week for a moving violation in Potter County turned into much more when the deputy reportedly discovered 33 kilos of cocaine inside the vehicle.

On Tuesday, authorities reported seizing 33 kilos or 75 pounds of cocaine after a deputy stopped a vehicle on I-40 west of Bushland by the Atkinson Road Exit.

The cocaine was concealed in a suitcase in the backseat of the vehicle and has an estimated street value of two million dollars.

The driver's name has yet to be released and the case is still under investigation.
