Police pursuit through three counties leaves one man behind bars

Posted: Updated:

AMARILLO - A local man is behind bars after a high speed chase takes police through three counties.

The chase started just before midnight on Wednesday, near 45th Ave. and the Canyon E-way in Amarillo.

Police say they noticed a red Chevrolet Monte Carlo driving well below the speed limit. When the Officer ran the tags on the car, they discovered it had been stolen out of Kansas. As they approached, the driver sped off.

That's when the chase continued up to the I-27 interchange with I-40. The pursuit went East, leading police into Carson County.

Seven miles outside of Amarillo City limits, police arrested Eric Brown. The pursuit lasted about 45 minutes.

The 32 year old was booked into the Carson County Jail on multiple charges including driving a stolen vehicle, possession of marijuana, and evading arrest.

Brown had a previous warrant in Potter county for Parole Violation. Police say he also has several outstanding traffic warrants.
