Pickup hit by car after stalling out in roadway, two injured

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, TX - An elderly woman and a child were both sent to the hospital Sunday night after their vehicle stalled out and was hit by another car.

It happened about eight o'clock Sunday night near Bell Street and Cruse. Officials say the woman and a child were in a pickup that had stalled out in a driveway on Cruse street. The front end was hanging out into the street. That's when another car driving down Cruse going about 60mph came up on the pickup, striking the front end.

The woman was thrown from the pickup, landing in the street. Both she and the child were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

So far, no other injuries have been reported.
