Police investigating overnight shooting in Lawton

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla_Police are investigating a late night shooting on the town's west side. Lawton Police responded to a shots fired call at the Invitational Apartments near the intersection of 52nd and Gore Blvd. around 10:30 Sunday night. Residents of one of the units said a group of males forced their way into their apartment. One of the victims flashed a bb gun at the men prompting them to run away.

After they left the victims reported hearing several shots in the breezeway and parking lot. The suspects fled in an unknown vehicle.

When officers arrived on scene they found one gun in the breezeway, several shell casings and blood in the parking lot. At this time they are not sure who the blood belongs to. However, 30 minutes later police received a call of a gun shot victim at Comanche County Memorial Hospital.
That victim claimed to have been shot in the ankle at 16th and B Avenue. At this time police are working to see if the two incidents are somehow related. No arrests have been made.
