Woman Arrested for Smuggling Drugs at Lawton Prison

LAWTON Okla_ A woman tried to smuggle methamphetamine and PCP into the Lawton Correctional Facility Sunday, but she didn't get away with it.

Lawton police say guards stopped Jennifer Shepard after she tried pass the contraband to one of the prison's inmates. A correctional officer retrieved an oblong package wrapped in electrical tape from Shepard. Inside the package was a small plastic baggie containing four grams of meth and a plastic bottle containing about 37 grams of PCP.

Police arrested Shepard and took her to the city jail. They say charges are pending.
