Investigation into the Lawton Police Department Continues

LAWTON,Okla_Tuesday night the Lawton City Council voted in favor of continuing an ongoing investigation into the Lawton Police Department. 

After convening in executive session at the start of the meeting, the council approved directing the investigation to a law enforcement consulting firm in Oklahoma City.  

There was no debate or comment regarding the scope of the investigation, or what prompted it.  
The council also approved a $100,000 purchase of land for a new fire station to be built on Bishop Road between 52nd and 67th Streets.
