Fire improperly extinguished; abandoned trailer up in flames

Posted: Updated:

CACHE,Okla_A pile of ash and rubble is all that's left of an unoccupied trailer after a fire was not properly extinguished. Thursday night Cache firefighters were called just east of Hwy 115 and Gore in Cache around 5:30.

Someone spotted smoke but when firefighters arrived  the trailer was fully engulfed. The owner told firefighters he was burning trash and debris in his yard when he thought he had put it out.

He said minutes later he heard sirens and walked out of his home to find the abandoned trailer
up in flames.Fire officials say the trailer is a complete loss. Firefighters will remain on scene to monitor hot spots.

No one was injured in the fire.
