New Report on Duncan Car Dealership Legal Battle

Posted: Updated:

DUNCAN, Okla- A new report recently released details new facts about the investigation into the inner workings of the Mike Terry car dealerships in Duncan.

The dealerships have been involved in a intense legal feud that plagued not only the dealerships, but also its customers and employees.

Sunday new information emerged after Michael Deeba, the receiver of the dealerships during the investigation, presented his first report to a Stephens County District Court.

The report openly discussed problems with customer paybacks, payroll issues, and discrepancies with bank accounts.

Deeba said he had insufficient funds to pay operating expenses, including, but not limited to, payroll and customer trade-in payoffs when he took control of the dealerships.

The report also shined light on the personnel problems, highlighting his reasoning for laying off 40 employees.

He also noted that employee insurance had not been paid, and their claims were being denied when the receivership began.

Deeba said the investigation will continue, with special attention to the dealerships' credit card records.

Deeba also believes Randy Byford will get the final approval from General Motors to take over the dealership this week.
