Posted: Updated:

Lawton- Veterans Day is a time to pay tribute to the men and women who have fought for our freedom and many across the Lawton-Fort Sill community will be holding celebrations to do just that on Monday.

Fort Sill's celebration will kick off at 9 a.m. in front of McNair Hall on post. Major General Mark McDonald and others will address the crowd. At 11 a.m., Lawton veterans will dedicate a new "America's War," monument at Elmer Thomas Park.

Sunset Memorial Gardens will hold its annual ceremony as well. That will be Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. State Representative Don Armes is slated as the key-note speaker.
